Au prétérit, les questions se forment avec l'auxiliairedid.
- On doit respecter l'ordre des mots dans une question : (Wh) + auxiliaire + sujet + base verbale (+ complément éventuel).
- La base verbale est le verbe à l'infinitif. Le passé étant marqué par l'auxiliaire, on n'utilise plus la forme-edni la forme des verbes irréguliers. Exemple :Did Shakespeare move to London?ouWhen did he move to London?
Attention ! le verbe to be se conjugue au passé même dans une question, sans l'auxiliaire.
