a.William Shakespearewas bornon April 23rd, 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon in England.
b.He marriedAnne Hathaway in 1582. Together theyhadthree children: their daughter Susanna and their twins Hamnet and Judith.
c.He workedas a comedian and playwright.
d.Then, hebuiltthe Globe Theatre in London.
e.Between 1590 and 1613, hewrote37 seven plays. Some of his famous plays include Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and Hamlet. Hewasalso a poet: he wrote 154 sonnets.
f. He probably died on his birthday, the 23rdof April, in 1616. He was 52 years old.
Ces phrases sont rédigées au prétérit, le temps utilisé pour exprimer une action passée et terminée.
  • On le forme en ajoutant la terminaisonedà la base verbale, comme dansmarried, worked, died.
  • Certaines verbes sontirréguliers, il faut donc apprendre leur forme, comme pourhad,built,wrote.
  • Au prétérit, le verbeto bedevientwas(première et troisième personne du singulier) ouwere.

Au prétérit, les questions se forment avec l'auxiliairedid.
  • On doit respecter l'ordre des mots dans une question : (Wh) + auxiliaire + sujet + base verbale (+ complément éventuel).
  • La base verbale est le verbe à l'infinitif. Le passé étant marqué par l'auxiliaire, on n'utilise plus la forme-edni la forme des verbes irréguliers. Exemple :Did Shakespeare move to London?ouWhen did he move to London?
Attention ! le verbe to be se conjugue au passé même dans une question, sans l'auxiliaire.
Exemple :Who was Shakespeare's wife?
