Should machines replace humans at work? - Final task 1

Situation.You are employees of a company that produces and sells high-tech machines. The CEO has proposed to replace 30% of the staff with robots to increase productivity and reduce costs. A special staff meeting is organised to discuss the consequences.
Four people have been chosen to speak during the meeting:
  • two support the automation plan;
  • two are against it and defend human jobs.
Mission.Each group of 4 students prepares for a simulated company debate. Each student takes on one of the following roles:
✅FOR automation
  • A human resources director – supports the plan to save money.
  • A young engineer – supports innovation and future technologies.
❌AGAINST automation
  • An employee who lost his job – opposes the plan, was recently fired.
  • Customer service manager – believes clients prefer human contact.
Instructions.
  • Take part in the debate.
  • Express your opinion: give 2–3 arguments.
  • React to other opinions.
