Before reading the text,answer the following questions.
1. What do you thinkthe text is about, considering the title "Love Your Body Campaign"?
Pay attention to the name of the organization "National Organization for Women," and remember the poster "BE YOU (tiful)."
2.What do you expectthe tone of the text to be? Why?
3.Use the subheadings(for example, "Where do these standards come from?") to imagine some of the arguments that might be developed in the text. Write them down.
4.Discuss your hypotheseswith your partner, and listen to theirs in return.

  • What methods do advertising companies use to make women look more beautiful? What is the impact of those methods?
  • Is it easy to ignore these beauty standards? Why or why not?
  • According to the document, what can be done? List at least ten different action verbs.
  • What actions seem like the best to you? Why? Do you have any other suggestions? 
  • Now use your answers to sum up the text.
