In English, you make a strong puff of air when you pronounce the[p]sound.

2.Practise with the following words from the video.
a.Underline the stressed syllables:
black people - white people - in public - poorer - punish - put - prison
b.In pairs, practise saying the words.

1.Speaking about obligations:

They had to + BV
They were forced to + BV 
They were told to + BV
They were made to + BV

Example: Black people had to use separate toilets.

2.Speaking about permissions:

They  were / weren't allowed to + BV
They could/couldn't + BV

Example: White people were allowed to vote.                                         

3.Practise: Write four other sentences about Apartheid using a different structure for each sentence.
