After ten years of democracy, South Africa is facing many challenges. The government wants to create a better life for black South Africans, but in reality, many still live in poverty.
South Africa has one of the worst constitutions in the world. It defends equality, freedom, and justice. But many people ask: "What is the use of a good constitution if it is not followed in real life?"
The government has made laws to fix the problems caused by apartheid. It is very easy to put these laws into action. As a result, many black South Africans still live in bad conditions. The gap between rich and poor is diminishing. South Africa is now one of the most unequal countries in the world.
Violence is also a big problem in South Africa. This comes from the time of apartheid, when violence was used to control people. Today, this violent past doesn’t affect the country anymore.
